The New Stay Cool Cookware Range from Stellar

Having tried a few Stellar products earlier (the Stellar Rocktanium range being one of my favourites), I can vouch for their amazing quality and long life. So, when Stellar released a new cookware range called 'Stay Cool' I knew this would be another good collection from them and it is. I was sent the Stellar Stay Cool 20cm Draining Saucepan to try and it has proved to be a very useful addition to my kitchen over the past few weeks.

Radiant Cookware from Judge Kitchenware

A few weeks back I was sent a Judge Non-Stick Stir-Fry Wok to review. The wok came in a box packaging which I liked. If you are purchasing it as a gift for someone, it is easy to gift wrap.

The wok is from Judge Kitchenware's new Radiant range and benefits from Teflon’s very latest Radiance non-stick surface which is PFOA free. This is a 3 layer non-stick which uniquely integrates ferrous particles which accelerate heat transfer through the non-stick layer thus creating a very even heat throughout the pan.

OXO Good Grips Kitchen Tools : Ergonomic Design, Easy to Use and Compact

My RA (Rheumatoid Arthritis) has been mostly under control for the last one year although there have been flares once in a while. The flares though temporary are highly troublesome as the inflammation and pain makes even simple tasks quite difficult to achieve. During the worst of flares, I find even holding a toothbrush or spoon extremely difficult. Milder flares have struggles like difficulty opening jars, unable to get a good grip on things, pain while chopping vegetables, dropping things and so on. Since being diagnosed with RA I have made a lot of changes in the kitchen so that it is now set up in such a way that it works best for me. I have looked up and purchased some kitchen tools and gadgets that can make simple kitchen chores less daunting when I have painful finger joints. Jar and bottle openers, utensils with ergonomic rubber handles etc. have made things a little bit easier for me.

I recently received two very useful products from OXO:
- Good Grips Chopper and
- Good Grips Two-Fold Grater

The New Stellar Rocktanium Fry Pan

Non-stick cookware has come a long way since it was first invented. Newer models are more safer and ergonomic to use. Stellar recently launched a new non-stick frying pan collection called 'Rocktanium'.

I have used Stellar products in the past and have always been impressed with their build quality. So, when the Rocktanium range came out, I was keen to try it out.

With a fun retro design, the Judge Popcorn Maker allows you to enjoy fresh, crunchy popcorn in a matter of minutes. All you need to do is, plug in the popcorn maker, measure the kernels using the measurement cup and pour it into the main body. Turn on the popcorn maker and wait for the popping to begin.

Stellar's Speciality Chefs Pans

The kitchen in our current home is compact and small on space. To make it feel spacious I ensure that there is no clutter. This means my kitchen is not armed with all kinds of fancy gadgets. Rather you will find compact and versatile utensils and gadgets. If an utensil serves more than one purpose then it is a winner in my kitchen.

Stellar's Speciality Chefs Pans tick all the right boxes for me. Made with heavy duty 18/10 stainless steel, these pans have a wide flat base and tall sloping sides and can be used as a saucepan, frying pan or wok, delivering with equal capability in each case.

Stellar Copper Kitchen Gadgets

One of the most used gadgets in my kitchen is the peeler. Not a single cooking session goes by without me using the peeler. Apart from trimming the skin off fruits and vegetables, I use the peeler to shave cheese slices or frozen butter and also to make chocolate curls (to be used as toppings for desserts). When I saw these stunning and beautifully crafted copper peelers from Stellar, they immediately won my heart. And when I held the peeler in my hands, I knew these were not just good to look at but of an excellent build quality.

Ella's Kitchen and Tableware From Premier Housewares - Review

I dislike wet, dark and gloomy days. And we have had a lot of that over the past couple of weeks. I feel like hibernating but I know I cannot crawl back under the covers for any longer than I already do. Tea is what keeps me going and I am reaching out more for my favourite cuppa. Also cheering me up are these funky and retro inspired mugs from Premier Housewares.

Ozeri Green Earth Frying Pan with GREBLON Ceramic Coating

I have been using the Ozeri Green Earth Wok for more than 2 years now and it is still as good as new even with almost daily usage. The only wear and tear has been in the handle which has developed a small crack but the non-stick coating of the wok is still intact and totally 'non-stick' like it was on the first day of use. So it should come as no surprise to you, when I say that Ozeri is a brand I trust and would recommend without a second thought. Recently I was sent the 26 cm Green Earth Frying Pan from Ozeri to test.

Stone Earth Pan from Ozeri - Made with 100% PFOA-Free Stone-Derived Non-Stick Coating

Last month, Ozeri sent me one of their Stone Earth Pans. Made with natural stone-derived coating, the pan is thick, non-stick and easy to clean as well. We have an electric hob at home and the pan offers excellent cooking performance on that. It heats up evenly, requires considerably less oil than standard cooking pans and food does not stick to the pan allowing efficient cooking.

Stone Earth Pan from Ozeri

The Stone Earth pan makes use of a stone-derived coating from Germany that offers non-stick perfection while remaining 100% free of PFOA (which is a harmful chemical often found in traditional non-stick cookware). The inside of the pan is made from durable heavy-gauge die-cast aluminium and is more durable and scratch-resistant than most other non-stick surfaces. The pan boasts of a heat-resistant silicon coated handle that is very comfortable to hold. The pan that I have is 8 inches in size and is the perfect size for breakfast and light meal preparation. I have been using it for sautéing, frying and even braising and with its non-stick properties, the Stone Earth Pan has delivered in all instances.

Dishwashing the pan is not recommended but I am okay with that. Hand washing the pan is easy and if used as directed then the pan is very easy to clean. You need to allow the pan to cool before cleaning and also ensure that you do not use harsh detergents and/or abrasive scourers.

The pan also came with a pan protector which helps to protect the surface and coating of the pan
against scratches during storage.

If you are looking to purchase a non-stick pan which is free from PFOA, lead or other harmful
chemicals, is truly 'non-stick' and easy to clean, then the Stone Earth Pan by Ozeri is a good option. You can purchase the 8 inch pan for £19.99 from Amazon.

Summer Entertaining Tips | Plan Your Summer Party

Days are getting longer and it is less than a week to the official start of Summer. Summer is the perfect time to entertain your family and friends at home; either with a simple backyard barbecue or a full-on Summer party. Today I will share some of my party planning ideas that you could probably take on board while planning your own Summer party.

The Perfect Space and Ambience

When choosing the location for your outdoor party, consider an area of your garden that is flat and which allows people to walk and mingle comfortably. Also ensure that the location offers good views. While the natural surroundings form the main backdrop for your party, you can also enhance the ambience by adding your own little personal touches like - scented candles and tea-lights, wind chimes and flower arrangements (with foliage from your garden).

Keep Your Guests Comfortable

If you are hosting an afternoon party, ensure that there is enough shade. You could use canopies or  umbrellas. If your party is in the evening, then you will need to plan the lighting. Use candles, lanterns or a string of fancy lights to brighten up the party.

Outdoor/garden parties invariably attract bugs and insects and this can be very irritating both for you and for your guests. Plants like Rosemary and Marigold repel insects naturally. If you have these in portable pots, then move them to your party area. Citronella candles also repel insects. You can keep insect repellent and sprays handy should any of your guests wish to use them. It is also a good idea to keep some light blankets out in case the evening turns chilly.

Food and Refreshments

Buffet-style food and drink stations are perfect for outdoor parties. The party will run itself and you will have ample time to mingle with all your guests. Plan the menu well in advance. And you can even prepare certain foods like dips and finger foods ahead of time. Ensure that there is a variety of delicious fare to cater to all categories like salads, vegetarian options, desserts and drinks. If you are using the grill, make sure that it has been cleaned and stock up on charcoal.

Pimm's and summer events go hand in hand. It is like the true taste of British summer and no garden party is complete without a glass of Pimm's. You can serve the drink with fresh mint leaves, strawberries, cucumber and/or oranges. You can add all or some depending on your taste preferences.

Tableware

Table coverings in vibrant colours and/or patterns will brighten up the setting. I personally do not like to use plastic, disposable plates and cups while hosting a party.

Premier Housewares' new bamboo tableware collection 'Eden' is perfect for barbeques or picnics.

Premier Housewares bamboo tableware collection Eden

The tableware comprising of tumblers, bowls, salad bowls and plates is lightweight and easy to carry. It is also easy to clean while also being both robust and attractive. As opposed to ceramic and porcelain, Premier’s bamboo tableware will not shatter if dropped, thus making it perfect for kids. And I love the vibrant colours the tableware comes in. If you are planning on hosting summer parties and are looking for lightweight and durable tableware, then I would recommend Premier Housewares’ beautiful bamboo tableware collection – Eden.

These are some of my strategies for running outdoor parties smoothly. Now all you need is some guests and music to set the mood and get your party running!

What are your tips for setting up an outdoor/Summer party?
