This time I am a bit late with my Degustabox review post. A week away travelling, backlog of work and some health issues meant that this post got delayed. Anyway, here I am with the July Degustabox review. For those of you who are new to Degustabox, you can read more about them here. And for the others, let's get started. Here is what I received in the July Degustabox.

Before we head onto the products let me quickly tell you that this month the box was a little different as in there were 2 slightly different boxes. One with alcohol and another without alcohol. Since I was sent the box for review purposes, I received all the products from both the alcohol and the alcohol-free boxes :)

I have photographed the products in 2 lots to show you how the 2 different boxes would have looked. The products marked with arrows unique to each box.
  • Frank Snack Bar (RRP 85p)
  • Green & Black’s Dark Chocolate with Citrusy Flavours (RRP £2.29)
  • Dr. Oetker Violet Crystals (RRP £1.29)
  • Dr. Oetker Eton Mess (RRP £1.99)
  • Hornsby’s Blueberry Cider X 2 (RRP £1.25 each)
  • Zeo Soft drinks (RRP £1.29 each)
  • The Berry Company White Tea, Peach Flavour (RRP £1.49)
  • Portlebay Flavoured Popcorn X 3 (RRP 79p each)
  • Maggi Cooking Sachets X 6 (RRP £5.44)
I have listed Frank Snack Bar and Green & Black’s Dark Chocolate with Citrusy Flavours at the top of the list because these were the 2 products to disappear first. Frank Snack Bars are vegan and made from only natural ingredients and a while back I had reviewed all the flavours, so we knew what to expect from this bar. You can read my post on the Frank Snack Bars here. The Green & Black’s Dark Chocolate with Citrusy Flavours, I have to admit, was a surprise. I love dark chocolate and citrus products but on their own. As a combination this was something unique. I have tried one other bar with a similar combination but that a long time back and I had forgotten what the taste would be like. I liked it. The bar lasted two sittings only :)

The July box included 2 products from Dr. Oetker again and these have been added to the baking cupboard. The products were Eton Mess and Violet Crystals. I like the look of both of them. I still haven't had the opportunity to use them but I am sure these will be used up soon.

The 2 bottles of Hornsby's Blueberry Cider were picked up by Mr.H as he loves blueberries. I tried the cider too, but I much prefer the Crisp Pear Cider with Strawberry & Lime flavour which was included in the May Degustabox.

I had first tried ZEO late last year. It was been promoted as a new soft drink range with a tingling taste sensation :) ZEO is made from natural ingredients and is a blend of a range of botanicals, fruits and fantastical flavours - all from nature. I love all the 3 flavours and so was understandably delighted to see these in the June Degustabox.

The Berry Company White Tea, Peach Flavour - This one had a pleasant but a sweet taste that I was not very drawn to.

Portlebay Flavoured Popcorn - We liked these. Of the 3 flavours provided Chilli & Lime and Krackekorn was used up. The Crispy Bacon & Maple Syrup was given to a colleague as it wasn't suitable for vegetarians.

The Maggi sachets come in quite handy to make quick meals. We received Piri Piri Chicken, Cheesy Chicken & Leek Potato Bake, Beef & Ale Casserole and So Juicy Oriental Soy & Garlic for Chicken. I checked the ingredients list and 5 of the 6 packets were suitable for vegetarians. I am looking forward to incorporating these in my veggie cooking.
