We tried Love Yourself's Vegetarian Diet Plan for a day (1500 calories, £26) and here is what we thought about it. 

A day's meal plan includes 5 meals - Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and 2 Snacks and everything comes packed in biodegradable containers that are also 90 days compostable. The containers came stacked in a paper bag and were neatly packed.

The 5 meals that we received included:

  • Breakfast - Baked Apple and Oat Cake with Blueberry Yoghurt
  • Morning Snack - Sweet Potato Hummus
  • Lunch - Tofu Tikka Masala Rice & Goji Berries
  • Afternoon Snack - Chocolate Brownie
  • Dinner - Nectarine, Mozzarella & Broad Bean Salad

All the meals were labelled with ingredients, nutritional info, allergen details and heating instructions (if applicable). There was zero preparation needed from my end, and all I had to do was heat and enjoy the meals. This is a great option if you lead a hectic lifestyle and do not have the time to cook fresh meals.

I liked the quality of the meals. They were tasty, healthy and with the ingredients list on each meal, I knew exactly what I was consuming. What I also liked about these meals was that it gives you a chance to try out new food combinations that you normally may not cook. From the meals I sampled, Tofu Tikka Masala Rice and the Nectarine, Mozzarella & Broad Bean Salad were my favourites. Both were very flavoursome and hearty. I also liked the Sweet Potato Hummus; so much that I looked up recipes for the same.

Overall, I liked the concept and the quality of the service. The ordering process is simple, the delivery is well-managed, the food was great and the use of biodegradable packaging is a good initiative by Love Yourself.

Healthy Meals

In terms of pricing, the meals may be slightly expensive than what it would be if you were to cook the same meals at home but they are cheaper than eating out. And I felt that the food was healthier compared to outside meals. Everything is made from 100% natural ingredients with zero preservatives or additives.
