February 2015 Degustabox

Degustabox is a monthly food subscription box that delivers a selection of food products right to your doorstep. Costing £12.99(including delivery) for each box, you are sure to receive an interesting mix of food and drink items every month. I’ve very kindly been sent these boxes for some time now and love the concept. Degustabox is perfect for those who love food and surprises.

The February Degustabox, as always, contained a lovely mix of products. What was interesting this time around was that half the brands included in the box were new to me. I had not heard of American Muffin Company before. I received their gluten-free brownie bites which were simply amazing. Delicious and the perfect size - it did not take much time for myself and Mr.H to finish the box :) Lily O'Brien's Cocoa Cookie Crunch were luxurious and delicious. Again, the pack did not last long.

Laimon Fresh always features in my shopping list since we were introduced to it a couple of years back. So, it was nice to see a bottle of this refreshing lightly sparkling soft drink in the box. I have tried both the available flavours of Peanut Hottie and enjoy the drink especially during cold evenings. The Schwartz Flavour Shots (Spanish Paella and Indian Mild Masala) haven't been used yet. I mostly cook from scratch but do stock up on curry pastes and flavour shots for emergencies. So, these two will be put to use. I love the Beet IT - Organic Beetroot Juice especially the ginger flavoured one, so was very excited when I saw the Beet It SportBar in Degustabox. But the bar did not evoke the same love as the juice. The Jack Link’s Beef snack was passed onto a friend as both hubby and me do not consume meat.

My favourite product from the February box was Melba Thins. These are perfect as a savoury pick-up anytime of the day :) I tried out a lot of toppings - savoury, spicy and even sweet and loved all the variations. An excellent way to make interesting and healthy snacks for the entire family. One of the simplest topping ideas was a layer of spicy mango chutney. Yum! I also used the Haywards Piccalilli(from last months Degustabox) as a topping. Cheese, cucumber, tomatoes, spiced thick yoghurt were the other toppings that I used. You can top up the Melba thins with whatever suits your palate and I am sure it will taste yummy.  Overall, the February box was wonderful. Degustabox is definitely one of the best food subscription boxes in the market.
