January 2015 Degustabox - The Healthy Box
Gifted | Affiliate

It's Degustabox time again on the blog. I love and look forward to the Degustabox delivery every moth. Priced at just £12.99(including delivery) the box is perfect for foodies who also love surprises.

The January box, also called the "Healthy box", was packed with lots of healthy food. The box was sent out in two variants - one with an alcoholic beverage and the other without. As I received the box for reviewing, I was sent products from both the boxes. The brands in the box were - Alfa One, Kabuto, Koko Dairy Free, Simplee Aloe, Sukrin, Magners Light, Little Miracles, Haywards and Mornflake. In addition there was a gift from Clipper Tea.

The box included the following products:
- Little Miracles Drinks X 2 = £2.98
- Magners Light – RRP £1.25
- Simplee Aloe Drink – RRP £1.79
- Koko Dairy Free – RRP £1.39
- Alfa One Rice Oil – RRP £2.00
- Kabuto Noodles – RRP £2.00
- Finn Crisp Original – RRP £1.20
- Mornflake Porridge Pots X 2 = £2.38
- Haywards Piccalilli – RRP £1.89
- Sukrin Cake Mix – RRP £5.00

This time there were a lot of brands that I had not heard of earlier. Simplee Aloe which is a natural Aloe Vera drink containing fresh aloe vera blended with grape juice and lemon was lovely. I am sure to pick this up frequently. Non-carbonated and refreshingly light, Little Miracles organic tea are the perfect pick-me-up any time of the day. These were in an earlier box too, but I did not mind receiving them again. Koko Dairy Free Original is a unique alternative to cow’s milk that is made from freshly pressed coconut milk. While I haven't used this yet, I like the fact that it contains less calories than skimmed milk and has 0% cholesterol. The Mornflake porridge pots came in handy and were very easy to prepare. I liked the addition of the extra portion sweetness(Lyles Golden Syrup or Nutella). The Alfa One Rice Bran Oil is very versatile and I have used it in stir-fry, curries and also for roasting veggies in the oven. Magners Light was a welcome inclusion. I haven't tried out Haywards Piccalilli which has chunky vegetables in a tangy mustard sauce. It would work well in burgers and BBQs and I will be using it in the coming weeks.

To sum it up, like always, I loved the January Degustabox too. Degustabox is one of the best food subscription boxes out there. I love the element of surprise and the thoughtful selection of products.
