Urbanveda Natural Skincare Rose + Botanics Reviving Range - Review

The Urbanveda range has been designed to suit all kinds of skin types keeping the principles of Ayurveda in mind. Ayurveda has its roots in India and is a holistic approach to maintaining health - both physically and emotionally. The Ayurveda system has 5 main elements called 'Pancha Maha Bhuta'(Pancha=five, Maha=great, Bhuta=elements). These elements are Ether, Air, Fire, Water and Earth. From these 5 elements, the three doshas are derived — Vata, Pitta and Kapha. Doshas are unique mind-body types and the Urbanveda range is designed keeping different Doshas in mind. So for example if you have sensitive skin then you would be grouped under 'Pitta'. I have combination skin and so the products that suit me would be from the 'Tridoshic' range of Urbanveda. 'Tridoshic' means that all the three doshas are strong forces in an individual's constitution.

Urbanveda's Tridoshic products are clubbed under the Rose + Botanics range which combines Rose with multi-vitamins and other active ingredients to help maintain skin's natural balance. This is achieved by infusing the skin with Omega-rich bio-oils, free radical-fighting antioxidants and vitality-boosting essential fatty acids. This range is suitable for all skin types; however it is perfect for tired and mature skin.

I tried out 3 products from the Rose + Botanics range: Reviving Body Wash, Reviving Daily Facial Wash and the Reviving Hydrating Toner.

Containing Rose Damask Flower Water, Pomegranate Juice, Borage, Jasmine and Evening Primrose, the Reviving Body Wash(200ml, £8.99) is extremely luxurious and creamy. I absolutely love the fragrance of this range. The body wash cleanses well without drying out. Leaves the skin feeling supple and soft after washing.

The Reviving Daily Facial Wash(150ml, £8.99) with key ingredients similar to the body wash is a wonderful facial wash. It is perfect for daily use and is very gentle on the skin. Lathers up well and skin feels soft and hydrated after use. Both the face wash and body wash contain Rose Damask Flower Oil and Rose Geranium Oil; making it such a fragrant treat for the skin. I feel that I have been immersed in a bathtub full of roses. The fragrance is just lovely.

The Reviving Hydrating Toner(150ml, £9.49) enriched with Omega-rich bio-oils is perfect for removing dirt and grime. After your cleansing routine, use the toner in gentle movements on the face and neck. The toner contains Aloe Vera juice, Rose Damask Flower water, Witch Hazel, Borage, Jasmine, Evening Primrose along with Glycerine and Amino Acid Complex to tone, improve elasticity of skin and help restore its suppleness. One of the most gentle and beautifully fragranced toners that I have used. Used in conjunction with the face wash, this one preps your skin for moisturisation.

Overall, this is a wonderful range of products. You can use Urbanveda's Skin Analysis feature to find your Dosha and then choose the skincare products accordingly. Apart from the Rose + Botanics range, Urbanveda also has Neem + Botanics, Turmeric + Botanics and Sandalwood + Botanics range for different Dosha types. 2. Mmmm....you do know how to tempt me Dee! I am really into toners at the moment - and this one looks lovely. I'm also mixing it up with different body washes to bring a bit of luxury to my shower. The ingredients lists are impressive - lovely natural scents and flowers. I have been using a Borage Oil face cream lately, and it is amazing! I didn't even know it existed till recently! Lovely range - thank you for sharing :-)
    Love Vicky
