With the colder months inching closer, the likelihood of someone or the other in the family catching cold/flu is more. About a month back I was sent a tube of NasalGuard Cold & Flu BLOCK which is a topical gel that is intended to trap, hold and immobilize cold and flu viruses thereby reducing ones chance of falling ill.

The NasalGuard Cold & Flu BLOCK is a preventive solution and not a treatment, so this should be used everyday as the cold and flu season approaches. The tiny tube contains enough gel for 150 applications. All you need to do is squeeze a tiny drop onto your finger and apply it in a thin layer around your nostrils and above your upper lip. The gel is very lightweight and drug free so can be used by children and pregnant women as well. You can use it under your makeup as well as it is practically invisible once applied.

I like the fact that the gel is odourless and a little goes a long way. Mr H is more prone to cold/flu than me and so I always make sure that he is using this gel especially when we are visiting crowded places or using public transport. The gel is non-drowsy, easy to apply and has been clinically proven to be safe and effective. This would be especially of good use to those with weakened immune systems. Overall, I find it a good preventive solution to protect you and your family from cold/flu.

The Plus points:
- It is easy to apply and fast absorbing.
- Odourless, drug free and non-drowsy.
- Suitable for children and pregnant women.
- The tiny tube will fit even in the smallest of bag/pocket.

Priced at £11.99 for a 3g tube, it is available in Boots. It may seem pricey considering the quantity of product in each tube. But the tube contains 150 applications and can be used by everyone in the family, so worth trying it out as a precautionary measure to combat cold/flu.
