Tropic Skincare - Deep Hydration and Face Lift Mask

Gifted | Contains affiliate links

I am a massive fan of face masks. Whether it is clay based ones, sheet masks or creamy face masks, I enjoy using them all. Two of my recent face mask finds have been from the brand Tropic Skincare. If you follow my blog, you would have read my review of Tropic Skincare's Buttermelt and So Sleepy Pillow Mist a while back. Two products that I loved using. So how did this second set of products fare? Read on.

I tried two masks from Tropic Skincare - the Deep Hydration Mask and the Face Lift mask. Let me start with the latter.

Face Lift Mask

Tropic Skincare describe this as an intensely tightening, age-defying mask to firm and brighten your skin. The tightening effect comes from the white and yellow clay present in the mask while hydration is provided by Agave nectar, Seabuckthorn extract,  Honeysuckle Extract and Vitamin E. The brightening effect is courtesy of Turmeric. The mask as you can see from the photographs is pale yellow (creamish) in colour and has a thick texture. It is easy to apply though. The fragrance (as I expected based on the colour of the mask) is the scent of Turmeric (a very herbal scent and one that I am used to as I use turmeric along with gram flour and milk as a DIY face mask). The clay used in the mask is gentle and not too harsh as in it doesn't dry hard on the skin, rather it feels like a gentle tightening.

I normally leave the mask on for 15-20 minutes before taking it off. The mask has always left my skin feeling firmer and soft to touch.

Tip: Use a wet muslin cloth to easily remove the mask.

Deep Hydration Mask

This mask has been described by Tropic Skincare as a creamy gel mask that instantly hydrates and soothes irritated or dry skin.

Formulated with antioxidant-rich wild Australian super berries and Resurrection flower extracts this
mask offers deep hydration and helps restore the skin's vitality. Some other key ingredients in the mask are Jojoba Oil, Konjac Root Powder, Shea Butter concentrate, Coconut, Honeysuckle and Beetroot and Probiotics. With a lovely fruity (berry) fragrance, the mask has a creamy texture and feels wonderful when applied on the skin. When I first looked at the mask, it reminded me of strawberry ice cream  - the colour, the fragrance; it looked like a scoop of ice cream in a jar :)

The mask has a cooling feel to it and is perfect for skin that is prone to redness or is irritated. Like the face lift mask, I leave this for 15-20 minutes as well and it leaves my skin feeling extremely soft and hydrated once I have washed it off. Love it.

Both these masks are perfect for my sensitised skin. I am in love with them both but if I had to pick a favourite of the two it would be the Deep Hydration Mask.

  1. I like Tropic. I have tried lots of their products, I like their foot pebble, really long lasting and does the job of exfoliator and cleanser. I also like their day and night creams but the eye cream is really good, just very expensive. I have also tried the body pebble which again, is creamy and makes skin feel soft, it looks like a soap but acts as a cleanser / moisturiser. I am not a fan of the mascara, it helped my lashes grow but tended to leave marks above my lids and is really a gel for fibres which can get in your eye! I liked the facial exfoliator but it is slightly irritating that the contents separate in the tube which shouldn't happen for such an expensive product.
