September 2016 Degustabox

Last week we received the September Degustabox. For those of you who are unfamiliar with Degustabox, let me share some information about the concept. Degustabox is a monthly food subscription box. For £12.99 per month (including shipping) you receive 10 - 15 food and drink items sent to your home - usually in the last week of each month. The price of the box is always much cheaper than the total retail price of all the items in the box making it a fun way to try out new food products. So, without further ado, let's see what was in the September Degustabox.

Cape drinks (2 x £1.59): A sparkling blend of anti-oxidant packed Rooibos tea and fruit juices with added vitamins and botanical extracts. These drinks were very delicious. Loved them. Will definitely be adding these to my next shopping list.

Teisseire Sirop (£2.99): We were sent the Raspberry and Cranberry flavour. You add a dash of the sirop to still or sparkling water to flavour it. It is akin to a cordial and will help you increase your water intake if you don't like drinking plain water.

Say Yes To No Bread Crisps (£1.49) : I loved these. We received the BBQ Toasted flavour and it was yummy. Very tasty and without artificial flavours or additives.

Mrs Crimble's Fusilli (£1.99) : I prepared this the very afternoon I received the Degustabox and enjoyed it. Quick and simple, it worked well as a filling meal.

Cirio Berlotti Beans (£1.89) : A pack of 3, these are steam cooked beans packed with fibre, proteins and vitamins. I use a lot of beans (all varieties) in cooking as they are good source of protein for vegetarians like us. I used these in a spicy tomato based curry and it was delicious.

Hartley's Jelly Pots (4 x £0.50) : Perfect for a child's lunchbox. But as we don't have any kids, I had them all. I love jelly and these 'no added' sugar ones are perfect when a sweet craving strikes in the afternoon.

Chia Bia Whole and Milled Chia Seed Sachets (2 x £1.00) : Haven't used these yet, but happy to see them in the box.

Get Fruity Bar (£1.00) : Fruit and oat bar in Pineapple, Coconut and Lime flavour. Mr.H enjoyed this.

Metcalfe's Popcorn Thins (£1.00) :  Popcorn thins covered in chocolate. I did not like these although I love chocolate and popcorn on their own.

Miso Tasty Miso Soup (£3.65) : I liked the packaging and these soup kits could be perfect as an emergency mini-meal or snack. However, neither myself nor Mr.H liked the flavour. I wouldn't mind trying out other flavours though.

Overall, with the exception of the last two products everything else was loved and enjoyed.
