Low temperatures, heating on, dry air and windy weather - all suck out moisture from the skin causing dry and flaky skin. For some people the changes are not so noticeable, but if you are like me then the cold weather takes a toll on the skin. In any case, regardless of your skin type, you need to give your skin some extra nurturing during winters to keep it healthy and looking radiant.

Two products from Dove's Limited Edition Winter Care range have been helping me and my skin in my battle against the winter weather. The products are Winter Care Cream and the Winter Care Nourishing Lotion for Dry Skin.

Let me being with the Winter Care Cream. It comes in a 150ml tub and has a lovely, mild floral fragrance. The cream is very thick(but is not greasy) and you need just a little of the product to hydrate the skin. I use it as a night cream and wake up to smooth, soft skin. The Winter Care Cream is priced at £3.29/150ml and I think the tub in all probability will last through the entire winter.

The Nourishing Lotion is not as heavy/thick as the cream but offers good moisturisation nonetheless. In cold weather I keep my showers as brief as possible and after patting my skin dry, I immediately apply this lotion while the skin is still a bit damp. The lotion gets absorbed quickly and doesn't leave my skin greasy or sticky. Skin stays soft and supple for a long time.

To sum it up, both the products have a rich hydrating formula, are dermatologically tested, give the intensive care you need for the cold season and are excellent affordable winter skincare products.  You can pick them up from Boots.

Have you tried either of these products from Dove? What's your favourite winter cream/lotion?
