You must have heard the famous metaphor - 'Curiosity killed the cat'. While I do not get into unnecessary dangers or experimentation, as a (food)blogger I do tend to try out a lot of products. While some are a hit, some definitely can be given a miss. When I was sent the Fentimans Curiosity Cola, a ginger infused traditional Cola which the makers claim is curiously invigorating, I had to give it a try. So, was it a hit or a miss? Read on to find out.

Curiosity Cola, RRP from £1.50

When the package arrived and I looked at the bottle, I was impressed. It is quite different from the regular cola bottling we are used to seeing. I liked the presentation and branding. You see the image of a dog on the neck of the bottle? Well, that is 'Fearless' the dog that belonged to Thomas Fentiman the founder of the business. There is an interesting story on how the business came about. You can read more about it here.

Fentimans Curiosity Cola is a botanically brewed stimulating recipe of herbal ingredients. The drink has the distinct cola flavour but the addition of herbal ingredients takes it up a notch higher. It is a complex fruity flavour. It has slight carbonation and there is a wonderful spiced note because of the presence of ginger. There is a lot more going on here than in a normal cola. One of the best colas I have tried. If you are looking for a cola with a 'kick' then give this one a try.

Apart from Curiosity Cola, Fentimans' range also includes Traditional Ginger Beer, Victorian Lemonade, Rose Lemonade, Cherrytree Cola, Dandelion & Burdock, Brewed Shandy and Mandarin & Seville Orange Jigger.
