I have been planning to do this post since Valentine's day but never got around to doing it until now.   Mr H gifted me the Remington i-Light : Intense Pulsed Light Hair Removal system this Valentines. Lucky me!

I will be doing the review once I have used it for a couple of months because it needs at least three treatments every two weeks to enjoy hair free skin for 3 months. For the present, I will just let you know what this device is and how it works.

i-Light is a home-use device that removes body hair using Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) technology. It is the same technology that is used in professional salons and clinics. However, with this device you can do it in the comfort and privacy of your own home.

How it works?

i-Light directs an extremely short, intense pulse of light into the skin. This light energy is absorbed by the melanin in the hair follicle, temporarily disabling the growth mechanism in the hair and delaying hair growth. Optimal results are usually obtained after repeated sessions.

Interesting, isn't it? I have done the patch test and there was no adverse reaction. So, I am beginning my first session today. I will let you know in 6-8 weeks on how the device fared. Till then, keep smiling and enjoy life.

Update after 3 months

I found the IPL system quite incommodious to use. The base is big and bulky and cleaning and storing the device each time after use is an added task. I also found the treatment painful especially on under arms. All these reasons resulted in me not using the system regularly and finally it was packed for good and went into the cupboard.
