Fathers Day 2014 Gift Guide

"Yellow - it is the colour closest to light. In its utmost purity it always implies the nature of brightness and has a cheerful, serene, gently stimulating character. Hence, experience teaches us that yellow makes a thoroughly warm and comforting impression. With yellow the eye rejoices, the heart expands, the spirit is cheered and we immediately feel warmed. Many people feel an inclination to laugh when looking through a yellow glass." This is a quote by Johann von Goethe from the Theory of Colours and I totally agree with it. Yellow is indeed a colour of cheer and happiness and probably that is the reason it is one of the favourite/preferred colours of my father. With this in mind, I have put together a Father's Day Gift Guide based on the colour 'Yellow' that features gifts that I think will make wonderful presents for any dad.

Tommy Hilfiger Classic Cotton V-Neck Jumper, French Mustard (£90.00)
A classic 100% cotton V-neck jumper with long sleeves, this one is perfect for layering with crisp shirting on cool-weather weekdays. Perfect for the coming months.

Herschel Little America Backpack, Yellow (£85.00-£90.00)
For the travel loving dad, this capacious backpack offers both functionality and style. This Herschel's spacious Little America rucksack features a range of practical features including a 15" laptop sleeve, magnetic strap, pin-clip and toggle closures. It also has contoured shoulder straps for enhanced comfort.

Havaiana Brasil Logo Flip Flops (£22.00)
These Havaianas Brasil Logo flip flops are a summer style staple and perfect for slipping on for a strut along the beach. If you dad loves travelling then he can take these on his holidays.

Fragrances and perfumes are always a good and safe gifting option for any special occasion and it is no different for Father's Day. I have selected 3 fragrances which are centred around the 'Yellow' theme but are different from each other. First up is the Michael Kors for Men EDT Spray (£38.21) which is a classic combination of herbs and spices that opens into a warm, masculine heart of tobacco, incense and suede. A wonderful combination of elegance and sophistication, I am sure this simply elegant fragrance will be a welcome gift no matter what the occasion. Second is the Aramis 900 100ml EDC Spray (£33.44) which is a robust, yet elegant and sophisticated scent suitable for anytime use. If you are after old school masculinity; then this is the fragrance you should go for. This fragrance would perfectly compliment a mature gentleman. I feel that my dad would like this one a lot. And the final fragrance on my list is the Burberry Original For Men EDT Spray (£15.81) which is a clean yet distinctive scent that is perfect for casual use. The Burberry Original fragrance begins with top notes of bergamot, mint and thyme over heart notes of lavender, geranium and moss. I feel that this fragrance is a smell great enough to be liked and enjoyed by any dad including mine.

F&F Textured Tie (£3.00)
This chic tie has a super-fine mini check print which creates a textured finish. It has been designed with a subtle sheen to the fabric, contrast lining and pointed tip and would make a perfect addition to your dad's office wardrobe.
