The online food delivery market has grown significantly in the last few years. And the recent pandemic situation has propelled an acceleration in the market. With trips outside the home limited, consumers, including us, turned to online food delivery services. I am sure a lot of you would have used one or the other online food delivery services. I feel this trend will continue into the future because it is fast, easy and comfortable!
I was recently introduced to Piglet's Pantry, an award-winning food producer based in Worthing, West Sussex. They supply hand-filled pies, handmade sausage rolls, cakes and biscuits and afternoon teas to their customer base. We got to sample a selection of treats from Piglet’s Pantry and in this post, I will share my views on the same.
Piglet's Pantry Review
Our selection of treats from Piglet’s Pantry arrived very well packaged in a large, pink cardboard box.
Inside the box were smaller boxes, each with different food items. There were dry ice bags in the main box to keep everything chilled. All of the food was fresh and nothing was frozen. Each item had relevant storage and cooking instructions listed on a pamphlet. For e.g. the pies and sausage rolls could be kept chilled in the fridge or frozen for up to 3 months.
All items came with detailed ingredients list and the best before date was around 7 days, which is great, in my opinion.
Piglet's Classic Vegetarian Afternoon Tea for Two
Know an afternoon tea lover? Getting one of Piglet's afternoon teas delivered to them would make for an indulgent treat for the receiver. It is also a wonderful way of making birthdays, anniversaries or any other event more special.
We opted for the vegetarian version and it included the following treats:
- Cheese & Chive Quiche (x2)
- Chickpea Scotch Egg (x2)
- Mini Vegetarian Rolls (x4)
- Vanilla Scones (x2)
- Rodda's Clotted Cream (x2)
- Pot of Tiptree strawberry jam (x2)
- Chocolate chip loaf cake with caramel drizzle (x1)
- Blueberry & banana loaf cake (x1)
- Carrot loaf cake (x2)
- Teapigs tea bags (x2)
As you can see from the photos, everything arrived in excellent condition and the selection was fantastic. A varied spread of sweet treats and savoury goodies. We loved that the savoury items included scotch eggs, sausage rolls and quiche instead of sandwiches. We followed the cooking instructions listed for each product and the food was delicious.
Tip: The Scotch Eggs need to be at room temperature before you warm them in the oven. This ensures that the egg inside is also warmed. If you are warming it taken directly from the refrigerator, you may need to heat it for a little longer.
We loved all the savoury treats. Great taste and quality!
The scones from Piglet's are freshly made and without any additives. As advised we did not put them in the fridge and warmed them as per the instructions before serving. The texture was lovely and they tasted great.
The selection of loaf cakes was also fantastic. Each mini loaf comes in its own cardboard casing and was flavourful. Hard to pick a favourite as we enjoyed all three flavours.
Overall, we were impressed with the selection and quantity of the afternoon tea. We have missed visiting tea rooms during the pandemic and it was great to enjoy this fantastic afternoon tea in the comfort of our home.
The afternoon tea from Piglet's is great for treating yourself or as a special gift for friends and family.

SOS Piglets Box
Piglet's Pantry are known for their award-winning pies and so it was lovely to try out a selection of their best-selling vegetarian pies.
The SOS Piglets Box (Vegetarian) contained:
- Vegan Spicy Bean Roll (x2)
- Traditional Spinach Ricotta and Mushroom Pie (x2)
- Vegan Broccoli, Cauliflower and Cheese Pie (x2)

Assorted Handmade Luxury Cookies
Included in the assorted selection box were handmade cookies in the following flavours:
- Triple chocolate chunk (x2)
- White chocolate and raspberry (x2)
- Milk chocolate chunk (x2)

Floral Brownie Selection Box
Beautiful in presentation and fantastic in taste, the Floral Brownie Selection Box featured decadent chocolate brownies (x4) dusted with dark brown cocoa and sweet blondies (x4) finished with chocolate flower decorations. The brownies/blondies were generously sized, not only looked beautiful but were wonderfully moreish as well.
Overall, we were highly impressed with all the items from Piglet's Pantry. I have to admit that choosing one item as our favourite was impossible. Everything was fantastic!
