Today I have the pleasure of introducing you to a fast-growing watch brand from Berlin, Lilienthal Berlin. Launched in 2016, the brand is already gaining a lot of popularity for its minimalistic urban watches. ‘Made in Germany’, which instantly brings to mind precision, quality and reliability, Lilienthal Berlin's watches are produced to a high standard and have also won several awards like the German Design Award, Green Product Award and the International Design Award to name a few. In addition, the brand also aligns itself with sustainable design and production. So, when they got in touch with me for a possible collaboration, I had a look a quick look at their website and then I did not take long to say yes.

I picked the Dark Silver Chronograph Mesh - First Edition to review.

The ordering process was very easy and the watch arrived within a few days time via courier. It was presented in a nice little monogrammed box, ready to be gifted (if your are purchasing it for that reason). Along with the watch, the guarantee details, there were also a few branded postcards.

The Lilienthal Berlin Chronograph watch is just over 100 grams in weight but it packs in so much in terms of design and quality. The watch case is made from sand-blasted 316L surgical stainless steel, which is anti-allergenic and exceptional sturdy while the strap is finely woven stainless steel mesh which feels very comfortable on the wrist.

This watch is a part of the 'First Edition', where the first 999 pieces have been engraved with a unique serial number on the case back and also come with a certificate that confirms the exclusiveness of each watch. The watch that we received was 509/999.

The watch has a minimalistic design, which both myself and Mr.H loved. There is also an ode to Berlin with subtle references like the Berlin street-sign typography on the dial or the crown which has been shaped like the famous Urania World Clock at Alexanderplatz (in Berlin).

I should also mention here about the 'Made in Germany' factor. All of Lilienthal Berlin's watches are designed, manufactured and quality tested in Germany. The dials for their watches come from small factories in the Black Forest region while the straps are from factories in the southwest of the country. Watch assembly is done in Pforzheim. Even the packaging is produced in Germany using eco-friendly materials.

Everything from the structured dial to the chronograph functions and from the mesh strap to the buckle are a reflection of the high quality of production.
