My skin is mostly in good condition because I try and take good care of it. However, sometimes due to my medical conditions and the medications I take, my skin tends to go very dry and/or is inflamed. It usually lasts from a few days to a week before returning to normal. The main problems I face during such times are dry and itchy skin with rashes on my face and neck. At these times I need a really gentle yet effective skincare product to help combat the dryness without causing any further irritation to my skin. And so, I always seek out products that help alleviate the discomfort.
For the past couple of weeks, I (and Mr.H who suffers from dry skin issues on a daily basis) have been trying out a couple of products from Aveeno's Dermexa range and let me tell you straight away that these products have been wonderful finds. The Dermexa range contains natural Colloidal Oatmeal along with Avenanthramides known for their soothing properties. In vitro testing has shown that Colloidal Oatmeal supports the growth of naturally occurring micro-organisms in your skin's microbiome. The unique formula intensely moisturises dry and irritated skin to help strengthen the skin's natural barrier as well. Additionally, the Dermexa Daily Emollient Cream also contains Ceramides which are known to rebuild core elements of the epidermis. What this means is the products are not only gentle on the skin but also effective. When we first used the products; especially the cream both myself and Mr.H were surprised by how soft and gentle the cream was. It is very easy to apply and absorbs very quickly as well. But the best part is it keeps the skin soft and supple and kind of protected from morning to evening. Mr.H normally needs (without fail) to intensely moisturise his skin twice a day. With the Dermexa cream he has noticed that his skin stays moisturised and soft with just one-time moisturisation a day. It has definitely helped. Both the products are excellent - the body wash gently cleanses skin without drying while the cream moisturises, soothes and offers relief from skin irritation/itching. We give full marks to both.
