It has been a while since I have reviewed a candle on the blog. I am back today with the review of a beautiful fragrance from AEQUILL. AEQUILL is the brainchild of Jintana Khieochuam who moved to London from Thailand. A childhood spent surrounded by precious oils (Jintana's mom had a beauty therapy practice) meant that Jintana developed a passion for candles and essential oils. She put her knowledge and passion to use and created AEQUILL.

AEQUILL Lemon & Rose Geranium Candle

The very first range of AEQUILL features five signature fragrances - ‘Mum’s Aromatherapy Shop’ - and is inspired by Jintana's time helping her mother blend essential oils for her beauty therapy practice.

The five fragrances are:
- Orange & Ylang Ylang
- Juniper Berry & Cedarwood
- Lavender & Marjoram
- Grapefruit & Vetiver
- Lemon & Rose Geranium

I have been using the Lemon & Rose Geranium candle (travel size, £16.00) and it is such a zesty and uplifting fragrance. It is like sunshine and happiness in a jar making the dull and dreary days seem so much better. The candle makes use of a Lemon, Geranium, Rosemary & Lavender essential oil blend and paraffin wax for an excellent scent throw. What I liked in addition to the fragrance is the fact that the candles are presented in 100% recycled glass containers. AEQUILL offer an eco-refill service wherein you can return the empty jar to them and they will refill it with a new wax and essential oil blend and send it back to you. That is such a wonderful and 'green' idea!

All of AEQUILL's candles are handmade and hand poured and the outer box is hand-stamped with a contemporary wax seal! Such a lovely design.

The candles are available in two sizes - Regular (up to 40 hours burning time) and Travel (up to 16 hours burning time). You can purchase AEQUILL candles from their online shop at www.aequill.com
