Last week we received the May Degustabox and as always we were excited to see what was included in the monthly box. It was an interesting selection of products as expected and we loved it.

Degustabox is a monthly subscription box containing food and drink items. The items are selected both from well-known and new brands allowing you to discover new products and flavours each month. The boxes cost £12.99 a month (including delivery) and there is no commitment with respect to the subscription i.e. you can cancel any time you want.

Let us take a look at the contents of the May box.

Brioche Pasquier Croissants (£1.80) – This was the product of the month. Wrapped in twos, these can be eaten on the go or enjoyed warm. Free from artificial colours, hydrogenated fats and preservatives these all butter croissants are perfect for breakfast.

Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Honey Barbecue Glaze (£1.99) – An interesting find in the May box, this glaze was simply delicious. It is infused with the flavours of Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Honey Liqueur and is perfect for BBQ recipes.

Kallø Rice Cakes (£1.29 + £1.69) – There were two products from Kallø - Belgian Milk Chocolate Corn Cakes and Yoghurt Coated Rice Cakes with the latter being my favourite. Both are great alternatives to calorie rich snacks.

The Wonderful Company Almonds and Pistachios (£0.90 each) –  Nutrient-rich nuts are a healthy snacking option. I love both Almonds and Pistachios and was happy to see these small packs - perfect for snacking and the small pack size ensures one doesn't end up eating more than the recommended portion size.

Garofalo Bucati Corti (£1.99) – A corkscrew shaped pasta made from high quality durum wheat, this pack was put to use the very night we received the Degustabox. With a lovely taste and texture it made for a hearty and delicious meal.

Cranes Alcoholic Drink (£1.90 each) – There were two bottles of Cranes Alcoholic drinks - Original Cranberry and Strawberry & Kiwi. 100% natural and low in calories, these drinks were refreshing. The Original Cranberry was my favourite.

Get Fruity (£1.00) - A very fruity oat bar that is 100% natural, this one was yummy. We received the Strawberry variant and liked it. The bar is also available in two other flavours - Orange and Blueberry.

Beloved Dates Nectar (£3.50) – This was also a new product - one that we had not heard of earlier. The nectar is made from 100% pure dates and is ideal for use as a topping on porridge or pancakes. You can also use it as an alternative to sugar in baking although I haven't tried it that way yet.

Pechkeks Fortune Cookies (£1.00 each) – Black coloured cookies laced with some black humour. Again something new to me as I have never come across 'Misfortune' cookies. It is different and we had a good laugh over the pessimistic messages but I am not sure if these cookies will be a hit with everyone.

Pomegreat Drink (£1.49) – A refreshing and delicious Pomegranate juice.

Mrs Crimbles Classic Madeleine – This was not listed on the May product card, so my guess is that it was an extra addition in maybe some (or all) boxes. These were yummy.

To sum it up, it was an excellent box from Degustabox. We loved it at DB Reviews. Normally the box costs £12.99 per month (including P&P) but for the readers of DB Reviews, I have a special offer. You can get your first box for just £5.99 - that is a massive £7.00 one time discount. Click on the image below and you are ready to place your first order.
