Pulse oximetry is a method that is used to measure the concentration of oxygen in our blood. Levels between 95-100% are considered normal blood oxygen levels whereas anything below 90% is considered low. It should be promptly addressed by consulting your doctor. A device called 'Pulse Oximeter' is used for measuring blood oxygen levels. It is a small device that is typically clipped to a finger and uses infrared light to estimate the amount of oxygen in the blood. This is a much easier and non-invasive method of measuring blood oxygen saturation as opposed to laboratory method where a blood sample is taken. A pulse oximeter is useful if you are prone to respiratory problems, cardiac problems or are recovering from an operation. It is also useful for regular monitoring at home if you suffer from sleep disorders.

Insert the batteries in the 'easy to access' battery compartment and your pulse oximeter is ready for use. All you need to do is insert your finger into the slot provided and turn the oximeter on.
