Say Goodbye to Chapped Lips with Lanolips 101 Ointment

Autumn is here! I think we have seen off the last wave of summer and it is time to welcome foggy mornings, cool temperatures, hot drinks, duvet days and beautiful autumnal foliage. I love Autumn for its colour and the shedding of leaves but Autumn also means  that the chill of winter is not far away. And that in turn translates to dry skin conditions and chapping lips. Autumn and Winter have always been a troublesome time for my skin and I 'up' my skincare regime during these months to keep my skin hydrated and dryness at bay. One of the lip care products that I have been using for the past few weeks and one that I see myself using a lot in the coming months is the Lanolips 101 Ointment.

Lanolips 101 Ointment

According to the Lanolips website "The Lanolips 101 Ointment is a luxuriously creamy ointment that contains 100% Ultra Pure Medical Grade Lanolin which literally melts between your fingers. It is a multi-purpose product that has multiple uses such as treating extremely chapped lips, dry cuticles, dry, itchy skin, dry nasal passages and more."

As you can see from the description above, it is indeed a multi-purpose ointment, but I have been using it solely for my lips. The ointment is made with 100% natural ingredients and is fragrance free. It is dermatologically tested and said to hold up to 200% of its weight in moisture. This makes it an excellent lip care product - perfect for combating dry and chapped lips. The ointment is a little thick and needs a bit of squeezing to get it out of the tube. It is clear and fragrance free as I mentioned earlier. Feels luxurious once you melt it between your fingers. When you apply it on your lips, the lips feel a bit shiny and slippery. If you want to use a lip conditioner prior to a lipstick application, then this one isn't the best option. This ointment is best for use on lips on its own. You can use it as an overnight lip treatment - will leave your lips smooth and soft when you wake up in the morning. I see this as one of my winter favourites for lip care.

What I like about Lanolips 101 Ointment
- Vegetarian
- Animal cruelty free
- Multi-purpose usage
- Fragrance free
- 100% natural ingredients
- Perfect size to carry in my handbag
- Little goes a long way, which means this 15g tube is going to last a long time
- And finally, I love the packaging :) The combination of the baby pink and gold is lovely. And the cute lil' sheep is adorable.

To sum it up, I love this multi-purpose ointment. Definitely recommend it. It is also no surprise that the Lanolips 101 Ointment has won multiple beauty awards and was also voted the ‘Best Lip Balm’ by InStyle Magazine 2014. You can check out the range here.
