I love a good face mask. They are the perfect solution to give tired skin a boost. There are masks in the market to address a range of skin care problems and I have a collection that includes traditional clay masks, self-heating masks, peel-off masks and AHA cream masks to name a few. The most recent addition to my face masks stash is the Aromatherapy Associates Hydrating Rose Face Mask.

skincare rose hydrating face mask

According to Aromatherapy Associates(AA) the mask is - "A deeply hydrating mask to restore vital moisture to dry skin. Aloe vera and Sodium Hyalauronate, renowned for their hydrating properties, are combined with Damask rose water, distilled from Bulgarian roses, in a cooling mask to bring radiance and vitality to dry complexions."

The mask is transparent and has the consistency of a gel. This makes it very easy to squeeze out of the tube. It spreads easily over the face and has a mild cooling sensation when you apply it. The best part definitely is the heavenly rose scent. I love rose scented products and this one is just my type of a scent. It is not sickly sweet but rather a mild rose water kind of fragrance. When you apply the mask, it feels a wee bit sticky initially but it soon dries leaving no trace behind.  AA suggest leaving the mask on for ten minutes and then rinsing it off with warm water. I usually leave it on for longer though and rather than washing it off, use a muslin cloth and warm water to wipe it off. I feel this is easier than washing it off :) I have combination sensitive skin and this one worked well for me. It left my skin soft and smooth. I also felt that it leaves the skin well toned which I think is one of the beneficial properties of rose water. It helps tighten the skin and adds a lovely glow. I also got Mr.H to try it out. He has very dry skin and while it did impart some softness and hydration to his skin, he mentioned that it was not as deeply hydrating as he had expected after reading the description on the box. Overall, I feel that if you have very dry skin, then it may not be as hydrating as it is for normal to combination or dry skin.

Priced at £37.00 for 100ml this luxurious mask hydrates and tones and is perfect for your weekly pamper sessions. You can pick it up from Aromatherapy Associates.

What do you think of this mask? Have you tried this or any other Aromatherapy Associates products?
