It was common place to have a jar full of assorted nuts at my mom's place. It still is. I remember mom handing me a handful of nuts instead of candies and sweets. As a child my favourites were Walnuts and Pistachios. Now, I enjoy all of them equally. Recently I came across Wonderful® Pistachios and Wonderful® Almonds both a part of Paramount Farms, the world's largest grower and processor of almonds and pistachios. I was very kindly sent samples of Wonderful Pistachios and Wonderful Almonds to try out and feature here.

Wonderful pistachios come in four yummy varieties:
- Roasted unsalted
- Roasted and salted
- Salt and pepper
- Sweet chilli

Pistachios have always been a favourite snack of mine. They are nutrient dense and one of the lowest-calorie, lowest-fat nuts. And they taste yummy as well. Coming to Wonderful Pistachios and how they fared in terms of taste and quality. The Sweet Chilli variety was simply delicious. A perfect blend of sweet and spice. It made a perfect accompaniment for my glass of Kombucha. Mr. H loved the Salt and Pepper variety because he felt that the subtle peppery flavour did not over ride the nut's flavour. This was the perfect one he felt. Roasted and Salted variety would go perfectly with an icy beer :) I was a bit sceptical about the unsalted variety; but surprisingly enjoyed it as well. Overall, all the 4 variants had a great crunch and make for an all natural healthy snack.

Before I move onto the Wonderful Almonds, here is a little bit of useful information about Pistachios. Pistachios are full of antioxidants, phytosterols and natural polyphenols. That is why they are called a heart-healthy snack. A handful of pistachios – about 30 kernels – offers a deliciously satisfying snack at about 100 calories.

Wonderful Almonds come in 3 varieties:
- Roasted and Salted
- Natural
- Blanched

We tried out the first two varieties. Raw natural almonds are a staple at our home. I always carry a handful in a cute little Almond box that I have. Perfect for munching on the go. The Natural almonds had a delicate flavour and wonderful on their own as well as when added to my bowl of yogurt with some dried fruit. The Roasted and Salted version was delicious with perfect seasoning. They were flavourful and had a good crunch. Went down very well with a glass of drink.

Wonderful Pistachios are available in major retail chains in the UK like Tesco, Sainsbury's, Holland & Barrett, Ocado and Waitrose among others.
