I believe in ageing gracefully. That is something I have learnt from my mother. She doesn't see ageing as a bad thing and embraces the fine lines, wrinkles and grey hair - all of it with equal grace. She doesn't try to look younger. I have acquired some of these characteristics from her. The last 2 years have seen the appearance of a lot of grey's - some due to ageing and some as side-effects of the medicines I am currently on. Not surprisingly, I have embraced them quite happily! I actually like the shine of grey against my black hair. I don't think I will ever colour my greys.

On the skin front - I have noticed the appearance of fine lines under my eyes. These are not due to facial movements but rather due to the ageing process - I will be 40 in 2017. I also have some faint lines on the forehead (these could be a combination of ageing and repeated facial movements). I use minimal to zero makeup and do not believe in covering up lines or hyper-pigmentation. It is a more of a personal choice. But one thing I do like to do is take care of my skin. It is the largest organ in our body and one that is visible externally. While topical applications can never reverse the signs of ageing and cannot miraculously make fine lines or wrinkles disappear for good, they can promote firmer looking skin and maybe help add a touch of radiance.

Japanese brand DHC recently introduced the Beauty Lift series - a collection of four products that help to hydrate, smooth and give skin an instant ‘lifted’ feel and appearance. I have used DHC products earlier and loved them, so was excited to try the new range out. The Beauty Lift range includes 4 products: Beauty Lift Lotion (a soothing and hydrating toner), Beauty Lift Essence (a silky-soft serum), Beauty Lift Milk (a lightweight, milky-textured moisturiser) and Beauty Lift Cream (a rich, intensive moisturising cream).

I have been using the Beauty Lift Essence and the Beauty Lift Cream for over a month now and love the results. I have not used any other facial skincare products while trialling these two products. My skin is smoother and much more hydrated than it was 5-6 weeks back.

The Beauty Lift Essence has a light gel like texture and is very easily absorbed by my skin. I have been using it after cleansing and before application of the Beauty Lift Cream. The essence contains intensely nourishing oat kernel extract and peptides and promotes firmer looking skin. The Beauty Lift Cream is a very luxurious cream that is best suited as a night cream. However, I have been using it as a day cream as well. Just like the essence, the cream also contains oat kernel extracts and peptides that moisturise and give skin a lifted appearance. For day time usage, I tend to use very little of the cream but as a night cream I am little more generous in the amount that I apply. My skin loves it. It deeply nourishes my skin and I wake up with hydrated and smooth skin. I have no hesitation in recommending these two products.
