Featured today on the blog are three products from Burt's Bees. All the products are from Burt's Bees' 'Facial' range and use simple, natural ingredients to leave your skin clean and soft.

Orange Essence Facial Cleanser

Orange Essence Facial Cleanser

This lovely smelling cleanser from Burt's Bees is an all natural, plant-based cleanser that gently cleans pores to remove make-up and other impurities without leaving your skin dry. This is the first time I am using this cleanser and it was love at the first wash. Not only does it clean well, leaving my skin soft but it also smells absolutely divine. Amazing fragrance - fresh, orange-y and zingy. I would purchase the cleanser just for the scent! The cleanser contains Sweet Orange Oil which is believed to stimulate circulation and ease puffy skin. The texture of the cleanser is somewhat like honey. It is gentle and perfect for my sensitive skin.

Peach and Willowbark Deep Pore Scrub

This is a natural sulphate-free scrub which contains finely ground peach stone that helps with exfoliation and removal of excess oil and dirt. The scrub also contains Willow bark and golden seal extracts (both known for their astringent properties) and ginger and sea algae extracts to revitalise skin. The fragrance is again lovely - very delicious and peachy. But unfortunately the scrub did not suit my facial skin. The gritty bits, even though ground, were not gentle enough for my sensitive facial skin.

I should mention here that the product is not marketed/targeted for sensitive skin, so its unsuitability to my sensitive skin cannot be listed as a drawback. I have used it on my elbows and knees with good effects. So, it should work fine for those with normal skin.

Burts Bees Orange Essence Facial Cleanser

Sensitive Facial Cleansing Towelettes

Summer time sees me using a lot of facial wipes. I have used facial towelettes from a number of brands and this one from Burt's Bees comes at the top of the list in terms of quality and suitability to my skin. The Sensitive Facial Cleansing Towelettes from Burt's Bees are skin-friendly - made especially for those with sensitive skin - and come in packs of 30 towelettes. The towelettes are of a good quality - thick yet soft and do not split or tear when used. The size if perfect to wipe ones face and hands and the wipe feels very nice on the skin. I use very little make-up - loose powder and eye-liner occasionally and the wipes remove both of them nicely. I find the wipes excellent for use while travelling - for cleansing or toning your skin or just to freshen up the skin. These towelettes are gentle on my skin and I did not experience any irritation when I used them. I find that the towelettes help to calm my face (especially when the weather is hot and my skin is flushed). This could be due to the fact that the towelettes are infused with White Tea Extract, Cucumber Extracts and Aloe Leaf Juice, all of which have calming effects. All in all, I love these towelettes - they are gentle on skin, soft to touch, work as expected and are perfect for sensitive skin.
