October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. All around the world, the month of October is marked for an annual campaign which involves increasing awareness about breast cancer, educating people and to highlight the research that is going on worldwide to overcome breast cancer. While most of us would be aware of breast cancer and the early screening steps, there are many who are not so familiar and many who forget to take steps that might help them to detect the disease early. That is where this annual awareness campaign comes into picture. There are many organisations and charities out there that help and inspire those who are affected by this disease. They offer support services as well as education about cancer. As an individual, there are many ways in which you can do your bit to help - you can partner with a charity, start a fundraiser campaign or donate. Whether you are at work, school or at home, there are lots of ways to raise awareness.

NHS has a Cancer Screening Programme. If you have any questions like - who the screening is for, what happens during a screening, what is digital mammography or even the list of screening centres, you can get more information here.

Listed below are some organisations and charities that I believe are doing a great job in fighting breast cancer. You can visit their websites to learn more about what they do and how you can help.
- Cancer Research UK
- Breast Cancer Care
- World Health Organisation
- Wear it Pink

Breast cancer is the second most common cause of death from cancer in women in the United Kingdom. Let us all come together to raise awareness and to create a support system for those in need. Together we can do our bit to fight breast cancer.

To raise awareness about breast cancer, this month DB Reviews will try to feature products that are contributing a part of their sales proceeds to organisations/charities that are working against breast cancer.
