Australian Bodycare : Tea Tree Oil Balancing Face Cream

Australian Bodycare's skin care range includes high quality facial products that use natural active ingredients with the key ingredient being Tea Tree Oil (Melaleuca alternifolia). I have reviewed their Tea Tree Oil Deodorant earlier. Today I am here with another product from their range - the Tea Tree Oil Balancing Face Cream.

According to Austrlian Bodycare's website the cream is - a light cream gel for oily combination skin. The blend of Tea Tree Oil, Saw Palmetto and Argan Oil help to successfully reduce the production of sebum, thereby helping prevent breakouts, blemishes and blackheads and alleviate the appearance of acne.

I have sensitive, combination facial skin which tends to go a little oily during 'that' time of the month. When I received this product I was a bit confused and sceptical. It is targeted at combination skin and claims to control oily skin and shine but two of its key ingredients are Tea Tree Oil and Argan Oil. So I was not sure if this would work. The face cream is light in texture but does have a slight richness probably due to the presence of oils. It gets absorbed easily but does not give a totally matte effect like some other creams that I have used earlier. The key to getting the best results out of this product is to use it sparingly in tiny amounts.  I have been using it only at night times and in tiny amounts. It is very mild and has antiseptic properties which tends to keep breakouts under control. It works well for my sensitive skin and I use it when I feel that I might get some breakouts due to hormonal changes. If you are prone to spots/breakouts/acne or have sensitive skin, you could give this a try. The cream contains Saw Palmetto which is a sebum regulator and Willow Bark which claims to give mild AHA effects. Overall, it is a gentle and hypoallergenic face cream perfectly suited for problem skin.

The tube that I have is a 50ml one and is priced at £12.00 and can be purchased here.
