Summer will soon be here. This is one season that I share a love-hate relationship with. Love it because there is greenery around, we can go for long walks, I need not be covered in layers of clothes, I can have lots of ice-cream and hate it because it makes my skin oily, dull and pigmented. I had been to India the past month on a holiday and Summer has set in there with temperatures in the range of 35-40 degrees Celsius. My go-to products for sun protection were the SunSense Daily Face SPF 50+ and the SunSense Anti-ageing Face Matte SPF 50+

The SunSense Daily Face SPF 50+ is a broad spectrum moisturising sunscreen for the face and neck. It gives a sheer tint for an invisible matt finish. The 75g tube(£20.99) is the perfect size for carrying in my handbag. I made sure to use this half an hour before stepping out in the sun and then reapplied every 4-5 hours if I happened to be outdoors for long. What I liked the most about this cream was its texture. It is creamy but yet so light and gets absorbed nicely. I have sensitive facial skin and this one did not cause any breakouts. I always harp on about multi-tasking products and this one fits the bill. It provides sun protection, it is decently moisturising and also gives a matte finish. You can go out as it is with just the cream on or use it as a base for your makeup. I do not use makeup but always finish off with a translucent dusting powder. And it worked well both ways.

The SunSense Anti-ageing Face Matte SPF 50+(100ml, £27.99) is again a multi-tasker. It is a dual-purpose sun cream that only has the anti-ageing benefits of alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) but also broad spectrum sun protection. Just like the Daily Face cream it gives an invisible matte finish -  it looks a wee bit shiny when you initially apply it, but it soon settles down and leaves the skin feeling fresh. In addition to AHAs it also contains Glycolic acid, Vitamin E and Vitamin B3 thereby offering a very high protection. So, if like me you are hitting your 40s and are concerned about ageing skin especially from sun exposure, then this cream is for you.

What I liked about these 2 products
- SPF 50+
- Very high UVA and UVB protection
- Dermatologically tested
- Oil-free base
- Fragrance free
- Free from PABA and lanolin

Overall, I liked both these products mainly because of their oil-free base which gives a smooth easy absorbing texture to the products. There is no greasiness and no residue or whitish layer or tint. It works well for my wheatish toned skin. These 2 are going to be my summer sun care staples.

Apart from taking care of your skin(proper moisturisation, adequate sun protection) if you wear sensible protective clothing, use sunglasses and wide brimmed hats and stay hydrated then you are ready to welcome summer. You can purchase SunSense products online from Crawford Healthcare. Do check it out folks. They are not Australia's No 1 Sun protection range for nothing.
