"An indulgence that simply cannot be missed" that is the tag line used by the makers of Peanut Hottie. As someone who enjoys peanut butter occasionally I was keen to give this product a try and so I was understandably excited when a jar of Peanut Hottie dropped into my post box. Thank you, Peanut Hottie Team.

Peanut Hottie is an instant hot beverage with the flavour of peanut butter. It is very simple to make, just add boiling water to a few heaped teaspoons per mug. You could increase or decrease the amount depending on how strong you want the drink to be. Honestly when I first heard about the drink I imagined a thick, creamy and somewhat gooey drink :) because that is the image that comes to my mind when I think about peanut butter. But I was surprised at how different this drink was - in a nice way though. It looked like tea when I added the boiling water to the powder and obviously had a lovely peanut butter scent. The taste - it was sweet, a bit salty, mildly creamy and nutty. The blend of these tastes worked very well and I was pleasantly taken in by the mixture of flavours. It was not how I had imagined it to be, but I liked it. I have been enjoying this in the evenings when I crave for something sweet and satisfying.

With only 83 calories per cup and minus any kind of artificial additives or colours, this caffeine free drink is suitable for vegetarians. An easy way to get your peanut butter fix anytime, anywhere. I also tried adding it to my banana milkshake with some good luck as the outcome was a flavoursome drink. Banana and peanut butter flavour turned out to be a lovely combination.

Have you tried Peanut Hottie? How would you use it? Drink it as is or incorporate it into some other recipe? I would love to hear your ideas.

  2. I didn't like peanuts as a child, but as an adult I've come to love them. I think this would make a really interesting drink and I'd love to try this :-)
