CB12 Safe Breath Oral Care Agent (Mouth Rinse) - Review

Good oral hygiene is essential to prevent dental problems. Apart from regular teeth brushing other things that help keep the teeth and gums healthy are tongue cleaners, mouthwashes and cleaning between the teeth. While I maintain a regular habit of good oral hygiene, I also make sure to visit the dentist regularly for a check-up and general cleaning of the teeth. Recently  I came across a new oral care product - CB12 Mouth Rinse. The makers of CB12 claim that the product is effective against bad breath instantly for at least 12 hours. That got me interested and I gladly accepted the chance to put it to test.

CB12 works on the basis of a new and unique formulation that is said to neutralise substances and processes that cause bad breath by combating ‘volatile sulphur compounds’ (VSC) gases that cause bad breath. Most mouthwashes simply mask the smell for a short period of time while CB12 neutralises the odour. These VSC gases are produced as a part of the normal digestive process and are the reason for bad breath. CB12 contains Zinc acetate and Chlorhexidine diacetate; both of which are scientifically proven to eliminate the VSCs; thereby eliminating bad breath. I was impressed by the logic and science behind the product.

CB12 comes in two variants: CB12 – Mint Menthol which has a lovely refreshing mint and menthol taste. CB12 – Mild Mint Menthol which has a more gentle mint flavour and a slightly milder taste than the other one. Both the products work in the same way and offer the same 12-hour protection. I like strong tastes so preferred the Mint-Menthol version, while Mr. H preferred the Mild version. It all comes down to your personal choice.

I liked the design of the bottles and the dispenser which dispenses the same amount(10ml) each time. The mouth rinse comes in a 250ml bottle, so 1 bottle should last you 25 uses. The price is £14.59 each bottle which looks like an expensive price for a mouthwash. I could get 3 bottles of my regular mouthwash for that price. But CB12 works well - it is better than most other brands that we have tried in the past. It doesn't sting and it keeps the mouth fresher for longer. If you have serious issues with bad breath, then I suggest you give this a try. It might seem pricey, but if it offers good results like it did for us, then it is worth it. Along with some good oral hygiene practices and regular dental checks you can keep your month healthy and smelling good. CB12 can be found in selected pharmacies across the UK.

Have you heard of or tried CB12? What are your thoughts on it?

  1. oooh this sounds interesting especially since it worked for you and doesn't sting because some do and leave an awful after taste. If I come across this I'm going to pick it up.
    Thanks for sharing

  2. It sounds like a much better solution than chewing gum or brushing your teeth after you eat or drink... great idea for those long 'social' days...

    1. I have sensitive teeth and I was fine with it. But do check the ingredients list in case you have known sensitivity to any particular ingredient. xx
